active meeting on a [00:05:45] monthly basis we've also worked on your [00:05:49] Municipal vulnerability preparedness uh [00:05:52] plan we've done quite a few plans with [00:05:54] the town of hardwood we're very engaged [00:05:56] with you we have a staff right now of [00:06:00] four to five staff members that work on [00:06:02] Community Development block grants [00:06:05] and as of the end of next month we [00:06:08] actually have a staff of 52 we've grown [00:06:11] considerably we're familiar with your [00:06:14] community we understand there was an [00:06:15] issue with the Community Development [00:06:18] block grant being submitted this year [00:06:20] and [00:06:21] um [00:06:22] our program is modeled somewhat after [00:06:25] Pioneer valleys we do enter into a [00:06:28] memorandum of understanding with our [00:06:30] communities so that we will work with [00:06:32] you closely to put together a [00:06:35] competitive application with the [00:06:36] understanding that we would [00:06:38] do the funds should the grant be awarded [00:06:40] very similar to what you've done in the [00:06:42] past with Pioneer Valley like with [00:06:45] Pioneer Valley we submit all of the [00:06:47] application and all of the backup for [00:06:50] you we coordinate with all public [00:06:52] Outreach and developing a plan to [00:06:54] continue the terrific effort and the [00:06:57] funding that you've had go into your [00:06:59] town through the Community Development [00:07:01] block grant program [00:07:08] and if you if Rob if I could [00:07:12] um we a community needs score based on [00:08:10] the need for this particular funding the [00:08:12] higher the score the better because I [00:08:15] wanted to confirm that you would be what [00:08:17] we assume to be equally competitive and [00:08:21] certainly you're a nine out of a ten [00:08:23] which [00:08:24] um you know speaks to your demographics [00:08:26] but the 10 being pretty much midi work for Gilbertville [00:32:16] wastewater treatment plant because [00:32:18] that's going to be more expensive [00:32:20] working on the 30b rfps [00:32:25] um so [00:32:26] the equipment costs something you have [00:32:28] to procure that separately so DPC is [00:32:31] working on this once again as we [00:32:33] um have talked before that they are [00:32:36] considered our [00:32:39] and they're doing all of this work uh [00:32:41] behind the scenes this is what an OPM [00:32:43] would be doing right now [00:32:44] and working through the contractor [00:32:47] pre-qualification process [00:32:50] so we're moving along [00:32:52] uh okay October 9th is Columbus Day [00:32:55] indigenous day all Town Offices will be [00:32:57] closed [00:32:58] My Town manager segments for October for [00:33:01] war [00:33:02] is just October 19th [00:33:05] the capital planning committee has been [00:33:08] meeting monthly and should have [00:33:09] recommendations to you soon we have many [00:33:12] building deficiencies so a lot of our [00:33:14] infrastructure is really um [00:33:17] in need of some [00:33:21] uh we'll be getting a safety install for [00:33:23] the boiler it will shut the pump off if [00:33:24] water goes above a certain amount this [00:33:26] is not a permanent fix but we're [00:33:28] starting to freeze in here and so we're [00:33:31] gonna have to turn it on and we're going [00:33:32] to have to find a solution for this [00:33:35] by next year [00:33:38] um [00:33:39] we applied for a USDA grant for a 35 [00:33:41] match for equipment last Friday [00:33:46] um September [00:33:49] 15th the [00:33:51] USDA released 1.8 million dollars for [00:33:56] non-construction projects and I was just [00:34:00] um [00:34:01] you know it was a strong suggestion that [00:34:04] I applied for it whether or not we [00:34:06] utilize it it can be de-obligated it [00:34:08] does have to go to town meeting so town [00:34:10] meeting would have to approve this I [00:34:12] think I need to swing it by [00:34:15] planning committee [00:34:17] it'd be over twenty five thousand [00:34:18] dollars which is a threshold for the [00:34:20] capital planning committee it would be [00:34:21] for two vehicles [00:34:22] police car that we didn't fund this year [00:34:24] and a new highway truck [00:34:27] um [00:34:28] so I I [00:34:31] was eating with it but we may not go [00:34:33] with it if the board doesn't feel that [00:34:35] it's necessary at this time [00:34:37] um you know it's just basically a 35 [00:34:39] savings for vehicles that we didn't [00:34:41] purchase this year [00:34:44] that means that we would be taking money [00:34:46] from somewhere so I'll have that for you [00:34:48] later when we have [00:34:50] handle on the
