I will call the selectman's meeting to order we can all rise for the Pledge of Allegiance goad to of the United States of America to Republic for it stands one nation
Under God indivisible with liy and justice for all thank you everybody okay so the big reason that we've gathered tonight is to to have a discussion about our two finalists and to uh potentially take a vote on those
The town administrated position so I will um open up to anyone that wants to start or I I'll start if there'll be once to start I I think that uh either way we
Went would be a benefit uh obviously they're different I would vote for Justine okay um first off I'd like to thank both of the candidates for coming to the
First round and second round of interviews taking the time in the interview process putting yourself out there absolutely you know that's hard to do for anybody so and we have two very very strong candidates um one has a background HR chapter 90 projects contract budget
Negotiation experience um worked in the state house as a house represented as Aid um and and that's Justine and Brian has experience as a select board member strong accounting background's very hardworking uh local government
Experience was on his Finance board for over seven years so we have you know we're fortunate to have a very good very good group to pick one and but at the end of the day you got to pick one unfortunately can't have them both you know it would be nice but
And I would recommend that we hire Justine okay I would look out to the other three members that we had join us if you want to add your you don't have to but if you would like to um we're certainly that's why we involved you
Because we do take you know your opinion not lightly and you will be working with this person day in and day out and as a member of the finance committee you know you will be too throughout the year at certain times so you know we do value your opinions well as far as I concerned
They're both strong candidates and um because the ultimate decision is the board of Selectmen I would absolutely be happy happy with whomever you pick could I'll pretty much Echo gen sentiments I me they're both qualified
And I think a when either way and I can certainly work with who you know it is your choice you know helped in the in the in the preliminary uh but certainly could work with with either one okay do you want to add anything Glenn yeah I think what you said is they have both two good candidates right both with
Different experiences right from different Avenues you know one was some strong back around in finances and running business and understanding that part of it and the other one being involved in Municipal law right and that's unfortunately at the end of the day kind of where we're at I think is
Somebody with some Municipal law um you know sometimes I I think that she might be a little stronger candidate I think last night's questioning um made me feel a little more comfortable about it than the first round good answer so I'm glad to hear that but that was important to
Do you know I think that her I think her questioning her answers to the questions I think were she was a little less nervous I guess I would say maybe on the second um and so I will say I thought about this I've been looking at their
Resumés again and rethinking you know the reference calls that I made and um I do I do also agree that they're both strong candidates but at the end of the day I think think the municipality background that Justine has I I would vote to hire her
As well so I'm I'm going to go with Justine um it was tough I went back and forth I went back and forth all all day really until you know I just finally sat with it and was like okay yeah you know I do think you know we were fortunate to have good candidates so
If we're comfortable and we're ready I would take a motion then would you like a mtion before I make yes um I'd like to thank the three of you for coming to these meetings to spend the time absolutely because it was it kind of gave it an objectivity it got
Us definitely lifted the ear yeah got us thinking of different things that maybe we wouldn't have thought it thought of you know as we were reviewing and and speaking with the candidates so plagiarizing their questions yeah so I would move that we hire
Justine offer position offer I would say if you like I make a motion like I would like to make a motion to enter into a contract negotiations with Justine gaziano for Town Administrator for the town of hwi thank you now second
Okay any more discussion all right all in favor all right hi hi good right well that that us business is out of the way now it goes down to negotiating um that will be an executive session to you know to start out with
And I would um I can with the holiday weekend right here we're probably looking at the beginning of next week and we can certainly do that Zoom I don't think we have to drag her in for every negot you know I think that if if everyone's okay with that we know her we can do that over Zoom because
That's just negotiating you're going to do that next week yeah okay I yeah we you don't want to do it tomorrow night no can't post it we're too late I think go for all five days of the we Saturday yeah right um what each dinner no I I I mean
Tuesday night we can still post for Tuesday night um or third and then if we need to we can ALS we can we can do one for Thursday night in case we need to Thursday night I have seven o'clock trustees so if we did it earlier I could do that a five Zoom if if we had to
That's I'm going to post both of them in the event that we need it we may not need it fine we we may be able to Hash it out um I do have I have Nicole's contract that Rob Julie and I um had David Jenkins thoroughly go through okay
We really have to go through that because there are some holes there yep so um well there were big there were bigger holes previously I understand what happened but I don't want to do it again um so we can we can use that as a starting point yeah and then go from there is that so I can send that to both
Of you to start looking at before how's that if you yeah send it tomorrow if you yeah yeah yeah I can yeah I'm sure I can dig it out before you yes I will before you go not even going to see my shadow okay and uh can we involve maybe somebody
From Finance when we get to their pay scale yeah I don't see why not I mean they can be yeah I mean because that that that should start you know we should be talking about that Tuesday and see where where she's at and Tuesday Zoom or or here zoom zoom do you think
You can make Tuesday if I do a zoom six is six good or do want do we want it earlier six okay so five today's Wednesday right so I can post that tomorrow you have until Thursday until because the holiday so I can post it tomorrow morning okay so if we have zoom
Can I come in here and be on Zoom or you certainly can okay all right I'm just wondering you're going to need either cuz I got we have plants animal all kind you know what I can hear your cats I yeah yeah yeah yeah I don't know if that works
Though the screen every time we've done it here Nicole no you have to bring your own iPad yeah he could bring his iPad you certainly can if you're looking for a quiet spot of course um you need a key though and a code I got my key today okay perfect I work on getting a code
Okay a key I'm trusted oh than so just to make clear just that such she could start within two weeks correct so actually we do need the number of her
Contract so we can put it on to the fisal 25 correct budget yes yeah absolutely so that's what we'll that's what we'll be working on yeah right down to the wire honestly yeah isn't it always the case it is unfortunately but
We manage though we get there we we got an unforeseen situation here so I mean we're also behind and kind of dizzy but this is a tough yeah yeah so so that's what we'll start doing um you know Tuesday and
Hopefully hopefully by Tuesday night we can have that hashed up so 6: p.m.
Tuesday night we and we'll do Zoom Zoom Y and then you also do Thursday to and I will I will schedule Thursday um in the event that we need to 6 p.m. again or five huh oh five because yeah because he's got a 7 o' okay yep in the flash though yeah
Okay so Tuesday 6: p.m. and Thursday we'll do five if we if we need yeah in the event that we need to so Madam chair yes just be certain that once you're done with the negoti that you come back into open be it Tuesday or Thursday y however you you know post it to just to to discuss
Yeah to discuss and and to actually vote on it on right yeah the negotiations cont yeah the negotiations so just leave yourself the option come back in the open because you were adjourning without coming back but with with this we'll have to vote an open yeah you'll want to if you decide it be it Tuesday or
Thursday okay perfect thank you for that reminder um and we have the it necessary to be able to do that I mean you could run the zoom or that's a good question somebody or turn it off turn it on for executive um I don't even know how to explain I know how to get onto Zoom I'm
Just going to need the passwords and everything to do it because I run Zoom meetings for my client so I do know how to do that it's I'll have to get that from the call for Tuesday yeah okay okay okay so we're good with that um Abby white reached out this morning they have an applicant for the recycling center
That she asked if we could um review that at tonight's meeting and I said that that was fine so you have an application in front of you they have met and interviewed with him the board has voted the commission rather the recycling commission has voted to hire this gentleman so if we're okay with it
We just accept their um recommendation okay for hiring trying to figure out where 171 Road it's thank you old home yes I Googled it
CU I was curious too never get recognition to you on she beat me to it she looks at Maps I know y so I've met the woman that lives there okay at the library MH so they live in
There full time I hous there so one is 169 and one is 17 right I move that we take up Barry Paul K as a laborer at
Recycling second motion okay any more discussion all in favor I okay so I'll make sure that Abby wait pens four pens thank you I don't make a note forget
It okay and then the other thing that you have in front of you is um the only scholarship application we got for the Elizabeth Mo scholarship um it just came in today we can we can take this I know
With talking with Nicole she had spoken to the high school and they said that guidance was going to send more over she has not seen anything as of like 3:30 4:00 this afternoon but you know there so their their award ceremony is
Like June 3rd or so it's couple days before graduation the senior night so that was the only reason why I said well we can have a discussion about it if we feel you know this is the first one that came in or you know we can wait Unfortunately they won't it won't be award you know it won't be recognized at
Their award ceremony but they would still get the scholarship if others came in and we decided to review so totally up up to you know so there's no time to actually vote on this and still get it in for their this one yes if we if we wanted to vote on this then it would be
Recognized at their award vent but by our next select correct correct so I didn't I didn't want to you know I wanted to um have that discussion as a group so do you think you're getting more applics I you know that's what they said but nothing came in so and the deadline was
Last week was last Friday and nothing came in until today so I'm sure it's a busy time of year it's graduation all the seniors are right so I'm sure it's a crazy time of year so we can either hold on to this until our next meeting or we can I
Mean I I have no problem voting on this because she she did the work she submitted it and you know time Y and some sometimes showing UPS after about it I don't disagree and I thought she wrote a very nice essay as well right so she's an athlete m going soon
To be accountant so just been taking Advanced course she has been so this is a right it's all good Riley Basset she's right here on hyri Road in Gilbertville and um she's been taking courses at quinsig in conjunction with finishing up high school so she'll be a head of the
Game and uh working on her master's degree in four years rather than four plus one uh and wants to go on to be a certified public accountant which she'll also you know and goes on to say that she also wants to go back into schools to teach children about finances because they're not taught that
So is the truth that is huge and that really was what I was like oh yeah like yeah so she wants to give back to the community as well as she's learning so that that was impressive well I would take a motion if we want to award the first scholarship
Do we have a dollar amount it's $500 okay that's what I thought so I would move that we U Grant this scholarship application to uh Riley Jay Basset is second motion uh all in
Favor okay okay I'll make sure she's notified all right I'm going to borrow your pen yeah no [Applause] problem okay uh any I did have selman's Round Table anyone has anything um did you
Have to get an answer from the I did yep okay so the oper funds that are currently available 52 81823 of which 3500 needs to come out for the website because that okay was
Three like a contract that we voted on 52 818 minus 3500 23 23 okay that makes sense yeah so m the 3500 so that's what that's what's available be on the higher side L side
Yeah right this yeah so um yeah should get that to a mysterious little thing there for a while yeah like finding the $20 in your pocket your jack I love when that happened any other anything else from that
You time oh yes my goodness thank you Ryan oh that's on there um we need to accept the town report the the 2023 Town report annual Town report right being somebody that's complicated the issue a little I would move that we
Accept I second it okay any discussion all in favor I I I'll set thank you on the web change the QR codes and I think Nicole for for 100 and yes we can still on the
Anything else yeah I do have one other question regarding like the finance committee and stuff are they working on the budget right now like reviewing possible areas because I know we have a shortfall as far as the number instead of waiting all the way to June 5th I'm just wondering are they working on it
Reviewing it well I know they think Mr cor's leaving tomorrow for nine days okay uh I believe Mr col Ros is here I don't know if they have a planned meeting I know I know we have a meeting for Monday but I think that and unfortunately I didn't get I came like 3
Minutes before we came in here I had meeting in the west coast um and I so I didn't I didn't get to see what they were talking about um three and four game here but I know that one of the concerns was right was the opera money they don't want to talk about that for that but I don't that's kind of the roof
Money so I know that they thought that we would it for the right if we could but it may it may lessen the burden of the transfer to Capital stabilization for like we're we're hoping to be creative about what money is going where yes so that we can fund the budget I
Cannot answer that so I will I can reach out to Chris and find out what I think we're all actively working on Solutions so that when we get together I think and one of the things you was waiting for if you have that if you can email to youil to Chris that that arpa money then it might give him okay A little sense of
Where what to do or where for what he can do emailed I scheduled the meeting for the 5ifth okay so I don't believe that they have anything else pending prior to that and it could very well be that just all the number crunching will be solved on I mean I'm not going to speak on
Their behalf but I think if we have that number he has an idea about what and that's a joint meeting on yeah yours I think is already scheduled so yes it is it is a joint okay good so we have another chance to sit down and figure this and then can also schedule a meeting for typically 800 or 8:30 a.m.
On before the meting because we go through the just to make certain there isn't any you know everybody I'm texting you this sure is that does that work no that's fine okay you mind asking him additional question on it um we we the funding for
The roof is coming from was it coming out of cash was it coming out of what fund was it coming from the funding for the roof project you have was it coming out of capital stabilization that I can't answer but I know that they said I believe that's where they I want to say yes what I can
No no I I just want to verify so we know which fund they're applying I'll send this to Chris and let him and have a quick conversation with him okay and then he can probably get back to you guys about where he thought that might be but I know that we won't be one last question was the funding for
The police C where did that come out of did that come out of cash came out of free cash that came out of free cash that came out of free cash okay and that's what he said if we would have kind of known that we probably would have taken out of free cash over and use the arpa funding and
At the time we didn't have the arpa balance yeah right but at the same time it's still in the same year so we might be able to make some transactions or some record that's what he yeah that yesterday and you know because it hasn't closed I'm it hasn't and so why can't we use the OPA funding to fund the police
Car and then take the cash back because there's still 49,000 left after the 3500 yeah I don't want to speak for him but I think that's what he would definitely prefer to do and then and then your free cash is higher yes right and then maybe we can plug all the other holes and right we can live another year it tell
Yeah the big one was a school and luckily they came in and where we had anticipated so that was regardless the thing is is during the last two months you can shift you can shift the we can transfer you can do the transfers in between can so that's the whole so right all right this out if we can do the trans
Right yeah right I know originally that's he said once he realized it was someone that he would have we would have used that well originally we when the question was asked it was most of the funds were all used up and we didn't know now we have we actually know we have a number from and we still have
Time so that makes the most sense I'll that over to okay yeah that works right all right perfect perfect anything else that does it I polished the cannon today I oiled the cannon perfect down at
The pizza shop good it's Memorial Day yes it looks beautiful it gleams ni are you going to shoot it I I appreciate I appreciate you taking part thank you well I I accepted ownership for the town
You did so I kind of feel do you do you still own a viable shooting Canon yeah that one won't would never shoot again but but there are other cannons in town we are we live in a cannon we not a town my father had one can tell you that he upset a neighbor or two along the along
Way June we'll be shooting well I would have to say over the over walls events if I usually was up but if I was not up at 6 a.m. you got up huh my windows would rattle you could feel the concussion yeah I think in 2026 you should bring a cannon down to
The World War I Memorial because that's the Centennial of the dedication of that so I'm putting stuff together for that I think that we should do well we'll talk about it we have to lay out a tape I don't want to break any Windows right but we can do we we'll make we can make some noise that' be amazing the
Concussions come from the top of CH upper Church Street I wonder what feel it on feel it at my house on the Windows find it I have I'll have to ask my my stepmom whatever happened to my dad's well it was Merl Bingham who's we were firing at Merl bingham's house I didn't think about it because it's like half a
Mile away you know it's certainly a safe shot he said he had to peel elbow right off the wall of the shower cuz she was in the shower and the concussion hit her and uh you know it was down range yeah if you weren't thinking about it yeah it was really like I was a kid if you drove
By the fire station there and a blue the horn you in the car great thing you jump do we have a motion motion toour a second all right all in favor I I at 526 yes Jed at 5
[00:00:00] I will call the selectman's meeting to [00:00:02] order we can all rise for the Pledge of [00:00:07] Allegiance [00:00:09] goad to of the United States of America [00:00:14] to Republic for offer position [00:05:39] offer I would [00:05:41] say if you like I make a motion like I [00:05:44] would like to make a motion to enter [00:05:46] into a contract negotiations with [00:05:49] Justine gaziano for Town Administrator [00:05:51] for the town of hwi thank you now second [00:05:54] okay any more [00:05:56] discussion all right all in favor all [00:05:59] right hi [00:06:01] hi good right well that that us business [00:06:05] is out of the way now it goes down to [00:06:07] negotiating um that will be an executive [00:06:10] session to you know to start out with [00:06:13] and I would um I can with the holiday [00:06:15] weekend right here we're probably [00:06:17] looking at the beginning of next week [00:06:19] and we can certainly do that [00:06:21] Zoom I don't think we have to drag her [00:06:23] in for every negot you know I think that [00:06:26] if if everyone's okay with that we know [00:06:29] her we can do that over Zoom because [00:06:31] that's just negotiating you're going to [00:06:32] do that next week yeah okay I yeah we [00:06:35] you don't want to do it tomorrow night [00:06:38] no can't post it we're too [00:06:41] late I think go for all five days of the [00:06:44] we Saturday yeah [00:06:46] right um what each dinner no I I I mean [00:06:51] Tuesday night we can still post for [00:06:53] Tuesday night um or third and then if we [00:06:57] need to we can ALS we can we can do one [00:07:00] for Thursday night in case we need to [00:07:03] Thursday night I have seven o'clock [00:07:05] trustees so if we did it earlier I could [00:07:16] it out um I do have I have Nicole's [00:07:21] contract that Rob Julie and I um had [00:07:27] David Jenkins thoroughly go through okay [00:07:29] we really have to go through that [00:07:31] because there are some holes there yep [00:07:33] so um well there were big there were [00:07:36] bigger holes previously I understand [00:07:38] what happened but I don't want to do it [00:07:40] again um so we can we can use that as a [00:07:44] starting point yeah and then go from [00:07:46] there is that so I can send that to both [00:07:50] of you to start looking at before how's [00:07:53] that if you yeah send it tomorrow if you [00:07:55] yeah yeah yeah I can yeah I'm sure I can [00:07:58] dig it out before you yes I will before [00:08:01] you [00:08:02] go not even going to see my shadow okay [00:08:06] and uh can we involve maybe somebody [00:08:09] from Finance when we get to their pay [00:08:11] scale yeah I don't see why not I mean [00:08:14] they can be yeah I mean because that [00:08:16] that that should start you know we [00:08:18] should be talking about that Tuesday and [00:08:21] see where where she's at and Tuesday [00:08:23] Zoom or or here zoom zoom do you think [00:08:27] you can make Tuesday if I do a zoom six [00:08:30] is six good or do want do we want it [00:08:33] earlier six okay so five today's [00:08:37] Wednesday right so I can post that [00:08:38] tomorrow you have until Thursday until [00:08:42] because the holiday so I can post it [00:08:44] tomorrow morning okay so if we have zoom [00:08:46] can I come in here and be on Zoom or you [00:08:49] certainly can okay all right I'm just [00:08:52] wondering you're going to need either [00:08:54] cuz I got we have plants animal all kind [00:08:57] you know what [00:08:59] I can hear your cats I yeah yeah yeah [00:09:02] yeah I don't know if that works [00:09:05] though the screen every time we've done [00:09:08] it here Nicole no you have to bring your [00:09:10] own iPad yeah he could bring his iPad [00:09:12] you certainly can if you're looking for [00:09:14] a quiet spot of course um you need a key [00:09:18] though and a code I got my key today [00:09:20] okay perfect I work on getting a code [00:09:25] okay a key I'm trusted oh than [00:09:29] so just to make clear [00:09:34] um just that such she could start within [00:09:37] two weeks correct so actually we do need [00:09:40] the number of her um [00:09:43] contract so we can put it on to the [00:09:46] fisal 25 correct budget yes yeah [00:09:50] absolutely so that's what we'll that's [00:09:52] what we'll be working on yeah right down [00:09:55] to the wire honestly yeah isn't it [00:09:58] always the case it is unfortunately but [00:10:01] we manage though we get there we we got [00:10:05] an unforeseen situation here so I mean [00:10:08] we're also behind and kind of dizzy but [00:10:12] this is a [00:10:13] tough yeah yeah so so that's what we'll [00:10:17] start doing um you know Tuesday and [00:10:22] hopefully hopefully by Tuesday night we [00:10:24] can have that hashed up so 6: p.m. [00:10:26] Tuesday night we and we'll do Zoom Zoom [00:10:30] Y and then you also do Thursday to and I [00:10:33] will I will schedule Thursday um in the [00:10:36] event that we need to 6 p.m. again or [00:10:39] five huh oh five because yeah because [00:10:41] he's got a 7 [00:10:43] o' okay yep in the flash though yeah [00:10:47] okay so [00:10:49] Tuesday 6: p.m. and Thursday we'll do [00:10:52] five if we if we need yeah in the event [00:10:54] that we need to so Madam chair yes just [00:10:57] be certain that once you're done with [00:10:58] the negoti that you come back into open [00:11:00] be it Tuesday or Thursday y however you [00:11:03] you know post it to just to to discuss [00:11:06] yeah to discuss and and to actually vote [00:11:08] on it on right yeah the negotiations [00:11:10] cont yeah the negotiations so just leave [00:11:13] yourself the option come back in the [00:11:14] open because you were adjourning without [00:11:16] coming back but with with this we'll [00:11:18] have to vote an open yeah you'll want to [00:11:20] if you decide it be it Tuesday or [00:11:22] Thursday okay perfect thank you for that [00:11:24] reminder um and we have the it necessary [00:11:29] to be able to do that I mean you could [00:11:30] run the zoom or that's a good question [00:11:33] somebody or turn it off turn it on for [00:11:36] executive um I don't even know how to [00:11:38] explain I know how to get onto Zoom I'm [00:11:41] just going to need the passwords and [00:11:42] everything to do it because I run Zoom [00:11:44] meetings for my client so I do know how [00:11:46] to do that it's I'll have to get that [00:11:48] from the call for Tuesday yeah okay okay [00:11:52] okay so we're good with that um Abby [00:11:56] white reached out this morning they have [00:11:58] an applicant for the recycling center [00:12:01] that she asked if we could um review [00:12:04] that at tonight's meeting and I said [00:12:06] that that was fine so you have an [00:12:08] application in front of you they have [00:12:10] met and interviewed with him the board [00:12:12] has voted the commission rather the [00:12:13] recycling commission has voted to hire [00:12:16] this gentleman so if we're okay with it [00:12:18] we just accept their um recommendation [00:12:21] okay for [00:12:25] hiring trying to figure out where 171 [00:12:29] Road it's [00:12:32] um thank you old home yes I Googled it [00:12:37] CU I was curious [00:12:39] too never get recognition to you on she [00:12:42] beat me to it she looks at [00:12:45] Maps I know y [00:12:50] so I've met the woman that lives there [00:12:53] okay at the library MH so they live in [00:12:57] there full time [00:13:00] I hous there so one is 169 and one is 17 [00:13:06] right I move that [00:13:09] we take up [00:13:11] uh Barry Paul [00:13:14] K as a laborer at [00:13:17] recycling second motion okay any more [00:13:21] discussion all in [00:13:23] favor I okay so I'll make sure that Abby [00:13:27] wait [00:13:30] pens four [00:13:32] pens thank [00:13:34] you I don't make a note forget [00:13:40] it okay and then the other thing that [00:13:43] you have in front of you is um the only [00:13:46] scholarship application we got for the [00:13:48] Elizabeth Mo [00:13:50] scholarship um it just came in [00:13:55] today we can we can take this I know um [00:13:59] with talking with Nicole she had spoken [00:14:03] to the high school and they said that [00:14:05] guidance was going to send more over um [00:14:09] she has not seen anything as of like [00:14:11] 3:30 4:00 this afternoon but you know [00:14:16] there so their their award ceremony is [00:14:18] like June 3rd or so it's couple days [00:14:21] before graduation the senior night so [00:14:23] that was the only reason why I said well [00:14:24] we can have a discussion about it if we [00:14:26] feel you know this is the first one that [00:14:28] came in or you know we can wait [00:14:31] Unfortunately they won't it won't be [00:14:33] award you know it won't be recognized at [00:14:35] their award ceremony but they would [00:14:37] still get the scholarship if others came [00:14:39] in and we decided to review so totally [00:14:41] up up to you know so there's no time to [00:14:44] actually vote on this and still get it [00:14:47] in for their this one yes if we if we [00:14:50] wanted to vote on this then it would be [00:14:53] recognized at their award vent but by [00:14:55] our next select correct correct so I [00:14:59] didn't I didn't want to you know I [00:15:00] wanted [00:15:02] to um have that discussion as a group so [00:15:06] do you think you're getting more applics [00:15:08] I you know that's what they said but [00:15:10] nothing came in so and the deadline was [00:15:13] last week was last Friday and nothing [00:15:17] came in until today so I'm sure it's a [00:15:20] busy time of year it's graduation all [00:15:23] the seniors are right so I'm sure it's a [00:15:25] crazy time of year so we can either hold [00:15:27] on to this until our next meeting or we [00:15:30] can I [00:15:32] mean I I have no problem voting on this [00:15:35] because she she did the work she [00:15:37] submitted it and you know time Y [00:15:41] and some sometimes showing UPS after [00:15:44] about it I don't disagree and I thought [00:15:46] she wrote a very nice essay as well [00:15:48] right so she's an athlete m going soon [00:15:52] to be accountant so just been taking [00:15:55] Advanced course she has been so this is [00:15:57] a right it's all good Riley Basset she's [00:16:00] right here on hyri Road in Gilbertville [00:16:02] and um she's been taking courses at [00:16:05] quinsig in conjunction with finishing up [00:16:08] high school so she'll be a head of the [00:16:10] game and uh working on her master's [00:16:12] degree in four years rather than four [00:16:14] plus one uh and wants to go on to be a [00:16:17] certified public accountant which she'll [00:16:20] also you know and goes on to say that [00:16:23] she also wants to go back into schools [00:16:25] to teach children about finances because [00:16:27] they're not taught that [00:16:29] so is the truth that is huge and that [00:16:32] really was what I was like oh yeah like [00:16:37] yeah so she wants to give back to the [00:16:38] community as well as she's learning so [00:16:41] that that was [00:16:43] impressive well I would take a motion if [00:16:45] we want to award the first scholarship [00:16:48] do we have a dollar amount it's $500 [00:16:51] okay that's what I thought so I would [00:16:53] move that we U Grant this scholarship [00:16:56] application to uh Riley Jay Basset is [00:17:00] second [00:17:02] motion uh all in [00:17:06] favor okay okay I'll make sure she's [00:17:09] notified all right I'm going to borrow [00:17:11] your pen yeah no [00:17:15] [Applause] [00:17:16] problem [00:17:18] okay uh any I did have selman's Round [00:17:22] Table anyone has anything um did you [00:17:25] have to get an answer from the I did yep [00:17:28] okay [00:17:30] so the oper funds that are currently [00:17:35] available 52 [00:17:39] 81823 of which 3500 needs to come out [00:17:42] for the website because that okay was [00:17:45] three like a contract that we voted on [00:17:48] 52 [00:17:50] 818 minus 3500 23 23 okay that makes [00:17:57] sense yeah so m [00:17:59] the 3500 so that's what that's what's [00:18:02] available be on the higher side L side [00:18:05] yeah right this yeah so um yeah should [00:18:09] get that to a mysterious little thing [00:18:11] there for a [00:18:12] while yeah like finding the $20 in your [00:18:16] pocket your jack I love when that [00:18:19] happened any other anything else from [00:18:22] that [00:18:24] you time oh yes my goodness thank you [00:18:28] Ryan oh that's on there um we need to [00:18:31] accept the town report the the 2023 Town [00:18:34] report annual Town report [00:18:37] right being somebody that's complicated [00:18:40] the issue a little I would move that we [00:18:44] accept I second it okay any [00:18:48] discussion all in favor I I I'll set [00:18:52] thank you on the web change the QR codes [00:18:55] and I think Nicole for for 100 and yes [00:18:57] we can still on the [00:19:03] anything else yeah I do have one other [00:19:06] question regarding like the finance [00:19:07] committee and stuff are they working on [00:19:09] the budget right now like reviewing [00:19:11] possible areas because I know we have a [00:19:13] shortfall as far as the number instead [00:19:15] of waiting all the way to June 5th I'm [00:19:17] just wondering are they working on it [00:19:19] reviewing it well I know they think Mr [00:19:21] cor's leaving tomorrow for nine days [00:19:25] okay uh I believe Mr col Ros is here I [00:19:29] don't know if they have a planned [00:19:30] meeting I know I know we have a meeting [00:19:32] for Monday but I think that and [00:19:35] unfortunately I didn't get I came like 3 [00:19:37] minutes before we came in here I had [00:19:40] meeting in the west coast um and I so I [00:19:44] didn't I didn't get to see what they [00:19:45] were talking about um three and four [00:19:48] game here but I know that one of the [00:19:50] concerns was right was the opera money [00:19:52] they don't want to talk about that for [00:19:53] that but I don't that's kind of the roof [00:19:55] money so I know that they thought that [00:19:58] we would it for the right if we could [00:20:01] but it may it may lessen the burden of [00:20:04] the transfer to Capital stabilization [00:20:06] for like we're we're hoping to be [00:20:08] creative about what money is going where [00:20:12] yes so that we can fund the budget I [00:20:14] cannot answer that so I will I can reach [00:20:16] out to Chris and find out what I think [00:20:20] we're all actively working on Solutions [00:20:23] so that when we get together I think and [00:20:25] one of the things you was waiting for if [00:20:27] you have that if you can email to youil [00:20:29] to Chris that that arpa money then it [00:20:31] might give him okay A little sense of [00:20:34] where what to do or where for what he [00:20:37] can [00:20:38] do emailed I scheduled the meeting for [00:20:41] the 5ifth okay so I don't believe that [00:20:43] they have anything else pending prior to [00:20:45] that and it could very well be that just [00:20:48] all the number crunching will be solved [00:20:50] on I mean I'm not going to speak on [00:20:52] their [00:20:53] behalf but I think if we have that [00:20:55] number he has an idea about what and [00:20:58] that's a joint meeting on yeah yours I [00:21:00] think is already scheduled so yes it is [00:21:03] it is a joint okay good so we have [00:21:05] another chance to sit down and figure [00:21:07] this and then can also schedule a [00:21:09] meeting for typically 800 or 8:30 a.m. [00:21:11] on before the meting because we go [00:21:14] through the just to make certain there [00:21:15] isn't any you know everybody I'm texting [00:21:18] you this sure is that does that work no [00:21:20] that's fine [00:21:21] okay you mind asking him additional [00:21:24] question on it um we we the funding for [00:21:29] the roof is coming from was it coming [00:21:30] out of cash was it coming out of what [00:21:32] fund was it coming from the funding for [00:21:34] the roof project you have was it coming [00:21:38] out of capital [00:21:39] stabilization that I can't answer but I [00:21:41] know that they said I believe that's [00:21:43] where they I want to say yes what I can [00:21:45] no no I I just want to verify so we know [00:21:48] which fund they're applying I'll send [00:21:51] this to Chris and let him and have a [00:21:52] quick conversation with him okay and [00:21:54] then he can probably get back to you [00:21:55] guys about where he thought that might [00:21:56] be but I know that we won't be [00:21:59] one last question was the funding for [00:22:02] the police C where did that come out of [00:22:03] did that come out of cash came out of [00:22:06] free cash that came out of free cash [00:22:07] that came out of free cash okay and [00:22:09] that's what he said if we would have [00:22:10] kind of known that we probably would [00:22:11] have taken out of free [00:22:12] cash over and use the arpa funding and [00:22:16] at the time we didn't have the arpa [00:22:17] balance yeah right but at the same time [00:22:20] it's still in the same year so we might [00:22:21] be able to make some transactions or [00:22:24] some [00:22:26] record that's what he yeah that [00:22:28] yesterday and you know because it hasn't [00:22:30] closed I'm it hasn't and so why can't we [00:22:32] use the OPA funding to fund the police [00:22:35] car and then take the cash back because [00:22:37] there's still 49,000 left after the 3500 [00:22:41] yeah I don't want to speak for him but I [00:22:42] think that's what he would definitely [00:22:43] prefer to do and then and then your free [00:22:46] cash is higher yes right and then maybe [00:22:48] we can plug all the other holes and [00:22:50] right we can live another year it tell [00:22:54] yeah the big one was a school and [00:22:55] luckily they came in and where we had [00:22:56] anticipated so that was regardless the [00:22:59] thing is is during the last two months [00:23:00] you can shift you can shift the we can [00:23:02] transfer you can do the transfers in [00:23:04] between can so that's the whole so right [00:23:08] all [00:23:10] right this out if we can do the trans [00:23:15] right yeah right I know originally [00:23:16] that's he said once he realized it was [00:23:18] someone that he would have we would have [00:23:21] used that well originally we when the [00:23:25] question was asked it was most of the [00:23:27] funds were all used up and we didn't [00:23:28] know now we have we actually know we [00:23:31] have a number from and we still have [00:23:32] time so that makes the most sense I'll [00:23:36] that over to okay yeah that works right [00:23:38] all [00:23:39] right perfect [00:23:42] perfect anything [00:23:44] else that does it I polished the cannon [00:23:48] today I oiled the cannon perfect down at [00:23:50] the pizza shop good it's Memorial Day [00:23:54] yes it looks beautiful it gleams ni [00:24:02] are you going to shoot it I I appreciate [00:24:04] I appreciate you taking part thank you [00:24:07] well I I accepted ownership for the town [00:24:09] you did so I kind of feel do you do you [00:24:12] still own a viable shooting Canon yeah [00:24:15] that one won't would never shoot again [00:24:17] but but there are other cannons in town [00:24:19] we are we live in a cannon we not a town [00:24:23] my father had one can tell you that he [00:24:25] upset a neighbor or two along the along [00:24:29] way June we'll be shooting well I would [00:24:32] have to say over the over walls events [00:24:35] if I usually was up but if I was not up [00:24:37] at 6 a.m. you got up huh my windows [00:24:40] would [00:24:42] rattle you could feel the concussion [00:24:44] yeah I think in [00:24:45] 2026 you should bring a cannon down to [00:24:48] the World War I Memorial because that's [00:24:50] the Centennial of the dedication of that [00:24:52] so I'm putting stuff together for that I [00:24:54] think that we should do well we'll talk [00:24:55] about it we have to lay out a tape I [00:24:57] don't want to break any Windows right uh [00:25:00] but we can do we we'll make we can make [00:25:02] some noise that' be amazing the [00:25:05] concussions come from the top of CH [00:25:06] upper Church Street I wonder what feel [00:25:08] it on feel it at my house on the Windows [00:25:11] find it I have I'll have to ask my my [00:25:14] stepmom whatever happened to my dad's [00:25:16] well it was Merl Bingham who's we were [00:25:18] firing at Merl bingham's house I didn't [00:25:21] think about it because it's like half a [00:25:23] mile away you know it's certainly a safe [00:25:25] shot he said he had to peel elbow right [00:25:28] off the wall of the shower cuz she was [00:25:31] in the shower and the concussion hit her [00:25:34] and uh you know it was down range yeah [00:25:37] if you weren't thinking about it yeah it [00:25:40] was really like I was a kid if you drove [00:25:41] by the fire station there and a blue the [00:25:44] horn you in the car great thing you jump [00:25:47] do we have a motion motion [00:25:50] toour a second all right all in favor I [00:25:54] I at 526 yes Jed at 5
