The Hardwick Select Board convened to address a range of municipal matters, beginning with resident concerns regarding public health services and town development. Key actions included the approval of contracts for assessor services, a change of manager for the Rod and Gun Club, and the acceptance of a $900 gift for Parks and Recreation. The Board also approved an easement for a sewer project and adopted an updated charge for the Healthcare Task Force. The Town Administrator provided updates on new phone systems, fire truck procurement, grant projects, and the ongoing FY26 budget compilation, alongside a significant issue with delayed water billing for 22 properties. The meeting concluded with reports from the Massachusetts Municipal Association conference and the announcement of a firefighter safety equipment grant and upcoming managers' training.

What yeah okay no's up sorry take your time should have gotten up to PE pledge [Music] allegiance States of America and to the
Republic for which it stands na indivisible indivisible with liberty jce okay I don't know yeah you're right live through the time when they cut that out any visitor
Comments I I mailed you at home and I I um hope that you'll consider acting on um Mr tinker's uh proposal to raise revenue
And that you will work work to make it a good vehicle because and in what I wrote I and having been here on the board of health I know that we are hard put to provide and and we can't actually provide the level of
Safety and health that we have so that we're at risk you know no hospital Ambulance Service shipped out and far from at least the West part and only uh um a doctor for every
1.8 people um and so on we haven't done we don't get any benefits from the China uh group that's supposed to do a a public health survey all the time so
Nobody seems to do a I haven't looked into but I doubt that anybody else is not looking into it either to get the benefits and and the same goes for grant writing and so on so we miss the opportunities that are
Available because you know we're volunteers and so extra Revenue will help um the second point I want to um make sure that oh you consider how that is to
Be used if you do get any extra [Music] Revenue um you know whether you go begging you don't just uh sit down and have a chat with them um you should be and and I I don't know if we can legally
Request them to show us their numbers so that we can say what do you think is a fair um a fair donation cuz as as a stand you're talking about donations but
Because everything is going to be coming into a Precision kind of a method of dealing with all of our problems whether it's a a sick person it's Precision medicine now or
Personalized medicine because we have the AI to um and the knowledge and the algorithm writers to put every Vector of a problem into uh a computer and generate
Solutions so that um just winging it or having meetings whether everybody attends or whether the public is informed or not uh that kind of um SE of the pants governance is um not really
Acceptable so whenever and however we can obtain um personalized to Hardwick governance then we should be we should try to seek funding to do that so
Use of funds that you might be able to get I don't like the word development uh because of the connotations it has particularly in terms of development in Hardwick because my view of Hardwick is
Is that we are incredibly valuable in terms of health and and the environment and the ability for us to raise nutritious food um we already raise water that's
Pure um and and the life supporting things that hardw can contribute to the entire surround even the state I mean if we tried the new methodologies for agriculture
Biodiversity and try to um engage our Farmers to use those methods then they would profit considerably because they'd be uh selling what people really want
Just like the water so I want you to uh um maybe change the word development for now until we come up with our actual values of what we want hardw to
Be um and for me I would not want any development the way some people think of what it is oh we got to develop it we got to bring in industry and so on agriculture is our industry those are the products that we can
Market and that that will enrich the whole town and our health so just be careful of that word development okay thank you thank you thank you um discussion and vote on Q
Properties LLC contract for the board of assessors um so the next two items on your agenda are requests from the board of assessors they've sent recommendation letters um for their permit and CLE inspections and their GIS Services yeah um you have a loot ass
Sign tonight by the way um so that's a request from the board I'm fine with both of these it's that's what we do annually them need a motion all make a motion to
Go with uh I to accept the Q Properties LLC contract for the board of assessors and the CI maintenance contract for the board of assessors I'll second all in favor I I
Okay do you want to sign everything at the end sure yeah um discussion and vote on change of manager for the Hardwick Roden gun club and that application was in our packet yep and um so they did go on and they did pay the $200 uh fee and they are changing the license holder to Michael cier yeah okay you good with
That yeah I'm good with that I'm okay with that okay motion I move that we uh vote to accept the change of manager Being Mike cier for the arbit Rod Gun Club I'll second all in favor
Vote to accept $900 gift from the East quab and land trust that was in our packet the letter M it was nice mhm nice I vote that we accept the $900 gift from the east club and L trust okay the only thing I will
Say is that in the past we have allocated the funds to the park and Rex Department okay to use for how they feel their cuz they're kind of the open space okay so it's up to you know I think if we're going to accept it that
We say words yeah we talked about uh in the last pilot discussion we talked about money that we would bring in Pilot for the capital capitalization account we did that's not in place yet this is not a pilot payment okay this is just a
Gift okay is my understanding unless I got it wrong mhm so I make a motion that we accept the E club and land trust gift of $900 and allocated to Parks and Recreation second all in
Favor vote to approve the easement for 17 Maple Street and this is in regards to the Sewer project down in will right yep I move that we approve this easement 17 Maple Street I'll second it all in favor I I perfect cuz that was I
Know that was um question Thursday in the call oh they were getting yeah the contractor was getting a little antsy that it wasn't hadn't gone through so Justin was happy to hear that it was on our agenda um so then we have some committee vacancies the youth commission
Open space committee and Parks and Rec Recreation committee is that just to make the announcement just to make the announcement and I will want website okay perfect I used to be a youth commissioner I don't have any of my own kids yeah I
Know okay so old business discussion and vote on updated charge for the healthc care task force yep so I reach out to Judy cor um because we there were some meetings where we had just like different information so she had said and I attached the email
That the board of Selectmen representation was Eric ballheim um her representation she's going on for the master plan steering committee Neil Halen is the representative for the Board of Health um no one from the planning board and Chris colos from finance and then they a citizen at large
And she was going to they were going to reach out to the church for that and I haven't heard anything about about that but she didn't include that in her email okay so I just uh wanted to approve get that approved tonight um take a motion to accept that as Justine red I so move I'll second it all in
Favor okay we rather have some rather than having someone have to reread all that over again um approval of minutes from December 9th so um like Tinker did reach out with some changes so the one that was in
The email to you is the old version and then the revised version is in your packet okay okay and okay so everything was just changed for whatever everything was changed the very last thing you said the very last thing you said was not changed everything else was changed the last
Thing was about um putting in the meeting minutes about it's on YouTube and it's on the agenda which goes with the minutes which says it's on YouTube so I just told Sandy not to worry about that one okay yeah okay I just wasn't sure if we wanted to start including that so it's just a
Reference it's on but it's right there on the agenda okay yeah okay and those would those should both get posted you know together right okay yep can you give me a bullet on what you changed I read the one that was online I didn't read tonight's yeah any major points um there was there
Was a couple there like the question on the liquor license that I asked about Le Eagle Hill and it was she mentioned it was three buildings or three spaces that serve food that was Justin's answer to my question and I just wanted he wanted that updated that's all okay um that was one
One of them was um why a conversation about my raise was not an go into executive session yeah it was that one and then there was one one about the auction y those the three CH the comment or something yeah comment that you had you wanted your wording in the minutes
So and and one thing was out of sequence one thing said we voted on the properties and then had a discussion afterwards we actually had a discussion beforeand and then voted yeah so it was just I mean it's okay nothing major nothing major it's just good it's all
We'll take a motion make a motion to approve the December 9th 2024 meeting as revised as revised and amended minutes as revised I'll second it all in favor all right administrative report a really long one no keep it
Short um so the new phones have been installed there so right now we have the old ones and the new ones um there's we have a department head meeting and the phone company gu is coming to do a demonstration for the staff before he gets rid of all the old ones you can see you know we've been
Busy um so we did start the purchasing process for the new fire truck um with the fire chief the treasure and the town accountant um I signed what I needed to sign I just waiting for Kelly signature and something and we're good to go um we had the green communities Grant inspection from last year um at Town
Hall the fire department and Highway this was so they'll give us the funds now that the Project's been complete it was last year's project I had a zoom meeting with cure Sarge energy and um Harry Comerford for next steps on the solar field I remember when I came in my first meeting they
Came in and I had heard nothing M um so we did kind of get an update they're going to be sending us a lease so that will be coming in the next couple months on your agenda before you guys um we're still kind of looking at a couple years out yeah it's been really this started when I was first on the board yeah this
Has been a long process well I guess they stopped dead for a while mhm they did yeah that was because National Grid y utilities correct could the or he just sign that bill there it wasn't them it wasn't cers it was yeah
It was all the red tape they had to go through um here's the one sentence that was going to be the whole report but I've been spending the majority of my time compiling the FY 26 budget but um you'll see I I changed everything I CH like I worked with the our accountant to change our chart of
Accounts um like putting things where they should be like making sure like all insurance is in insurance and not you know one random thing in building and one random thing and right somewhere else and just you know I even made sure that it was a line item for like the finance committee to have you know their
Professional development to go to their Association meetings and um pay their dues for their Association instead of coming out of the s board so it they used to have a line item yeah and that yeah it never got used so it like nothing ever got spent out of it now we are using so yeah that's why it went
Away and even like I did the same thing for a select Bo um so like when you have your selectboard Association meetings and you guys want to go like there's a place or if you next year if someone wants to go to the MMA conference with me like now there's a spot where all that can come out of so spent a lot of
Time cleaning that up okay that's good um so we did have an issue with the water bills our Highway superintendent had come to me and the 22 properties that we do the water bills for had been done Cent Cent yes
Hadn't been done in a year so uh they should be done twice a year so I got trained on the system and then come to find out that the meter thing that the highway superintendent uses was broken so we had to wait and
Order parts for that those parts came in he did the metor readings um now we're having an issue importing them into Vadar so they were supposed to go out at the beginning of this week um we are now waiting on our Vadar issue to be resolved so we can take from the system that does the meter
Readings over to Vadar so the bills can be printed um I did have a conversation with the chair um we're not going to you know penalize people cuz it is going to be a much larger bill um not you know those 22 people we're not going to penalize them we're not going to demand them we're going to you know extremely
Flexible um but I just wanted to be very open with the board of what is supposed what the bills like I mean as an example what a norm you know average I'm not sure I've never done them before depends on their water usage yeah but they're they're metered right but we don't have
You couldn't give me a number a dollar oh I I honestly don't I mean I know I've seen him in the past but it's been a while I don't even want to guess I can look I can look me and I can give you a call I'm just not sure you know they're not huge but they're they're big enough that yeah sure now
They're getting two right yeah they're definitely yeah yeah I know I mean they and then whe R and Gilbertville have their own oh yeah nothing to do with me right nothing to do or us yeah nothing with us though that's something to look at in the future mhm so after you leave
Yeah I think yeah I mean I know Yan Mori really well but he's as on so you know anyway um so we posted the vacant truck driver labor position for highway department and uh we started contract discussions with employees that of contracts that expire at the end of this
Fiscal year um myself uh select board chair K and the chair from Barry and the Town Administrator and Barry we met we've done it now twice just to kind of touch base with them because we share a lot of services with them and if we're getting complaints and stuff you know it's just good to keep that open line of
Communication um we're going to be working on a survey for the senior center um so that will be an anonymous survey um good so we can kind of figure out some bumpy stuff over there but other than that we're going to keep we're going to continue um a couple times a
Year um I attended the Massachusetts Municipal association annual conference in Boston from Thursday to Saturday um I attended a session on like a labor law update I attended a session on dealing with difficult legal issues I went to the manager association business meeting a sovic reception and a couple other
Things so it was a good time um went to the trade show um spoke to a couple people about some things were Hardwick so um it was it was a good time it was definitely worth it good good missed a lot of sleep I I am tired um I want to recognize fire chief
Peas um he the town was awarded the Massachusetts Office of Public Safety and Security firefighter safety equipment grant for $774 this goes uh to um like active shooter training okay um we're having a manager's training for department heads and a
Assistant department heads on February 11th from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. in this room um we're bringing in our insurance company to do it um I'm going to have breakfast for them um just to kind of build on some of their managed skills dealing with difficult situations and how to talk to their employees so that
Thought that'll be good for townwide perfect can I Cel if you would like to I would yeah absolutely and I just have a lot of things for design great what stuff you get R
TR um I'll give you this and there's one thing I just say G sign okay do you mind if we get these all mixed up um I would hope not because
Might I don't want to send the wrong things to people so the the Q Properties it just says accepted by is that just me uh sure yeah okay
Here's there's one more that I think is all three okay this is thank you Judy thank you Judy for coming oh thank you I'm surprised nobody comes

9:30 and this is just this is no nothing there okay oh do you have oh that was okay yep I'm trying to keep them the two different pile I messed them up it's all

Yeah I mean we still went for our walks and whatnot we just bundled up and the dog I put their jackets on all right so these were the first thank you and then B get this bottom half of it
Yeah I was hoping to save a big lump of wood till February and I'm going to make it yeahuh we start in on it next week is that is that your primary source your only yeah sunlight yeah it

No thank you select the round table anybody have anything I'm I'm good I don't have anything this evening to
I'll second it all in favor all right right
[00:00:00] what yeah okay no's [00:00:04] up sorry take your [00:00:08] time should have gotten up to [00:00:11] PE pledge [00:00:13] [Music] [00:00:15] allegiance States of America and to the [00:00:18] Republic for which it stands na [00:00:22] indivisible indivisible with liberty jce [00:00:26] okay I don't know yeah you're right [00:00:30] live through the time when they cut that [00:01:46] don't get any benefits from the [00:01:51] China uh group that's supposed to do a a [00:01:55] public health survey all the time so [00:01:58] nobody seems to do a I haven't looked so just be [00:06:40] careful of that word [00:06:42] development [00:06:43] okay thank you thank you thank [00:06:47] you um discussion and vote on Q [00:06:50] Properties LLC contract for the board of [00:06:53] assessors um so the next two items on [00:06:55] your agenda are requests from the board [00:06:57] of assessors they've sent um [00:07:00] recommendation letters um for their um [00:07:04] permit and CLE inspections and their GIS [00:07:07] Services yeah um you have a loot ass [00:07:09] sign tonight by the way um so that's a [00:07:12] request from the [00:07:15] board I'm fine with both of these it's [00:07:18] that's what we do annually [00:07:23] them need a [00:07:25] motion all make a motion to uh [00:07:30] go with uh I to accept the [00:07:34] uh Q Properties LLC contract for the [00:07:38] board of assessors and the CI [00:07:41] maintenance contract for the board of [00:07:44] assessors I'll second all in favor I I [00:07:49] okay do you want to sign everything at [00:07:50] the end sure yeah um discussion and vote [00:07:54] on change of manager for the Hardwick [00:07:56] Roden gun club and that application was [00:07:58] in our packet yep and um so they did go [00:08:01] on and they did pay the $200 uh fee and [00:08:04] they are changing the license holder to [00:08:06] Michael cier yeah okay you good with [00:08:10] that yeah I'm good with that I'm okay [00:08:13] with that okay [00:08:15] motion I move that we uh vote to accept [00:08:20] the change of manager Being Mike cier [00:08:24] for the arbit Rod Gun Club I'll second [00:08:27] all in favor [00:08:30] vote to accept $900 gift from the East [00:08:32] quab and land [00:08:34] trust that was in our packet the letter [00:08:39] M it was nice mhm nice I vote that we [00:08:44] accept the $900 gift from the east club [00:08:47] and L trust okay the only thing I will [00:08:49] say is that in the past we have [00:08:52] allocated the funds to the park and Rex [00:08:55] Department okay to use for how they feel [00:08:59] their cuz they're kind of the open [00:09:02] space okay so it's up to you know I [00:09:06] think if we're going to accept it that [00:09:09] we say words yeah we talked about uh in [00:09:13] the last pilot discussion we talked [00:09:15] about money that we would bring in Pilot [00:09:19] for the capital capitalization account [00:09:22] we did that's not in place yet this is [00:09:25] not a pilot payment okay this is just a [00:09:28] gift okay is my understanding unless I [00:09:31] got it wrong [00:09:34] mhm [00:09:35] so I make a motion that we accept the E [00:09:38] club and land trust gift of $900 and [00:09:42] allocated to Parks and [00:09:44] Recreation [00:09:45] second all in [00:09:48] favor vote to approve the easement for [00:09:51] 17 Maple Street and this is in regards [00:09:53] to the Sewer project down in will right [00:09:57] yep I move that we approve this [00:10:01] easement 17 Maple Street I'll second it [00:10:05] all in favor I I perfect cuz that was I [00:10:09] know that was um question Thursday in [00:10:12] the call oh they were getting yeah um [00:10:16] the contractor was getting a little [00:10:17] antsy that it wasn't hadn't gone through [00:10:19] so Justin was happy to hear that it was [00:10:22] on our agenda um so then we have some [00:10:25] committee vacancies the youth commission [00:10:28] open space committee and Parks and Rec [00:10:30] Recreation committee is that just to [00:10:33] make the announcement just to make the [00:10:34] announcement and I will want website [00:10:38] okay perfect I used to be a youth [00:10:42] commissioner I don't have any of my own [00:10:44] kids yeah I [00:10:46] know okay so old business discussion and [00:10:49] vote on updated charge for the healthc [00:10:51] care task force yep so I reach out to [00:10:53] Judy cor um because we there were some [00:10:56] meetings where we had just like [00:10:58] different information um [00:11:01] so she had said and I attached the email [00:11:05] um that the board of Selectmen [00:11:07] representation was Eric ballheim um her [00:11:10] representation she's going on for the [00:11:12] master plan steering committee Neil [00:11:14] Halen is the representative for the [00:11:15] Board of Health um no one from the [00:11:18] planning board and Chris colos from [00:11:21] finance and then they a citizen at large [00:11:24] and she was going to they were going to [00:11:26] reach out to the church for that and I [00:11:28] haven't heard anything about about that [00:11:29] but she didn't include that in her email [00:11:31] okay so I just uh wanted to approve get [00:11:33] that approved [00:11:35] tonight um take a motion to accept that [00:11:39] as Justine [00:11:41] red I so move I'll second it all in [00:11:47] favor okay we rather have some rather [00:11:50] than having someone have to reread all [00:11:52] that over again um approval of minutes [00:11:55] from December [00:11:57] 9th so um like Tinker did reach out with [00:12:02] uh some changes so the one that was in [00:12:05] the email to you is the old version and [00:12:07] then the revised version is in your [00:12:09] packet okay okay and okay so everything [00:12:14] was just changed for whatever everything [00:12:16] was [00:12:17] changed the very last thing you said the [00:12:20] very last thing you said was not changed [00:12:22] everything else was changed the last [00:12:23] thing was about um putting in the [00:12:27] meeting minutes about it's on YouTube um [00:12:30] and it's on the agenda which goes with [00:12:32] the minutes which says it's on YouTube [00:12:34] so I just told Sandy not to worry about [00:12:35] that one okay yeah okay I just wasn't [00:12:38] sure if we wanted to start including [00:12:40] that so it's just a [00:12:42] reference it's on but it's right there [00:12:44] on the agenda okay yeah okay and those [00:12:47] would those should both get posted you [00:12:48] know together right okay yep can you [00:12:51] give me a bullet on what you changed I [00:12:53] read the one that was [00:12:55] online I didn't read tonight's [00:12:59] yeah any major points um there was there [00:13:03] was a couple there like the question on [00:13:06] the liquor license that I asked about Le [00:13:08] uh Eagle Hill and it was she mentioned [00:13:11] it was three buildings or three spaces [00:13:13] that serve food that was Justin's answer [00:13:16] to my question and I just wanted he [00:13:18] wanted that [00:13:19] updated that's all okay um that was one [00:13:25] um one of them was um why a conversation [00:13:30] about my raise was not an go into [00:13:32] executive session yeah it was that one [00:13:34] and then there was one one about the [00:13:36] auction y those the three CH the comment [00:13:40] or something yeah comment that you had [00:13:42] you wanted your wording in the minutes [00:13:44] so and and one thing was out of sequence [00:13:46] one thing said we voted on the [00:13:48] properties and then had a discussion [00:13:50] afterwards we actually had a discussion [00:13:52] beforeand and then voted yeah so it was [00:13:55] just I mean it's okay nothing major [00:13:59] nothing major it's just good it's all [00:14:02] we'll take a motion make a motion to [00:14:04] approve the December 9th 2024 [00:14:08] meeting as revised as revised and [00:14:11] amended minutes as revised I'll second [00:14:13] it all in favor all right administrative [00:14:17] report a really long one no keep it [00:14:21] short um so the new phones have been [00:14:25] installed there so right now we have the [00:14:27] old ones and the new ones um there's we [00:14:29] have a department head meeting and the [00:14:30] phone company gu is coming to do a [00:14:31] demonstration for the staff before he [00:14:34] gets rid of all the old ones you can see [00:14:36] you know we've been [00:14:38] busy um so we did start the purchasing [00:14:41] process for the new fire truck um with [00:14:42] the fire chief the treasure and the town [00:14:44] accountant um I signed what I needed to [00:14:47] sign I just waiting for Kelly signature [00:14:48] and something and we're good to go um we [00:14:51] had the green communities Grant [00:14:53] inspection from last year um at Town [00:14:55] Hall the fire department and Highway um [00:14:58] this was so they'll give us the funds [00:15:00] now that the Project's been complete um [00:15:02] it was last year's [00:15:03] project I had a zoom meeting with cure [00:15:06] Sarge energy and um Harry Comerford for [00:15:08] next steps on the solar field I remember [00:15:10] when I came in my first meeting they [00:15:12] came in and I had heard nothing M um so [00:15:16] we did kind of get an update they're [00:15:17] going to be sending us a lease so that [00:15:19] will be coming in the next couple months [00:15:21] on your agenda before you guys um we're [00:15:24] still kind of looking at a couple years [00:15:25] out yeah it's been really this started [00:15:29] when I was first on the board yeah this [00:15:32] has been a long [00:15:34] process well I guess they stopped dead [00:15:36] for a while [00:15:38] mhm they did yeah that was because [00:15:41] National Grid y utilities correct could [00:15:45] the or he just sign that bill there it [00:15:47] wasn't them it wasn't cers it was yeah [00:15:50] it was all the red tape they had to go [00:15:52] through um here's the one sentence that [00:15:54] was going to be the whole report but [00:15:55] I've been spending the majority of my [00:15:57] time compiling the FY 26 budget [00:15:59] but um you'll see I I changed everything [00:16:03] um I CH like I worked with the our [00:16:05] accountant to change our chart of [00:16:06] accounts um like putting things where [00:16:09] they should be like making sure like all [00:16:11] insurance is in insurance and not you [00:16:13] know one random thing in building and [00:16:14] one random thing and right somewhere [00:16:16] else and just you know I even made sure [00:16:18] that it was a line item for like the [00:16:20] finance committee to have you know their [00:16:22] professional development to go to their [00:16:23] Association meetings and um pay their [00:16:26] dues for their Association instead of [00:16:28] coming out of the s board so it they [00:16:30] used to have a line item yeah and um [00:16:33] that yeah it never got used so it like [00:16:36] nothing ever got spent out of it now we [00:16:39] are using so yeah that's why it went [00:16:41] away and even like I did the same thing [00:16:42] for a select Bo um so like when you have [00:16:45] your selectboard Association meetings [00:16:47] and you guys want to go like there's a [00:16:48] place or if you next year if someone [00:16:50] wants to go to the MMA conference with [00:16:51] me like now there's a spot where all [00:16:53] that can come out of so spent a lot of [00:16:55] time cleaning that up um [00:16:59] okay that's good um so we did have an [00:17:01] issue with the water bills [00:17:04] um our Highway superintendent had come [00:17:06] to me and the 22 [00:17:09] um properties that we do the water bills [00:17:12] for had been done Cent Cent yes um [00:17:15] hadn't been done in a [00:17:17] year so uh they should be done twice a [00:17:21] year so I got trained on the system [00:17:25] and then come to find out that the meter [00:17:29] thing that the highway superintendent [00:17:31] uses was broken so we had to wait and [00:17:33] order parts for that those parts came in [00:17:35] he did the metor [00:17:37] readings um now we're having an issue [00:17:40] importing them into Vadar so they were [00:17:42] supposed to go out at the beginning of [00:17:43] this week um we are now waiting on our [00:17:46] Vadar issue to be resolved so we can [00:17:48] take from the system that does the meter [00:17:50] readings over to Vadar so the bills can [00:17:52] be printed um I did have a conversation [00:17:55] with the chair um we're not going to you [00:17:57] know penalize people cuz it is going to [00:17:59] be a much larger bill um not you know [00:18:02] those 22 people we're not going to [00:18:03] penalize them we're not going to demand [00:18:05] them we're going to you know extremely [00:18:07] flexible um but I just wanted to be very [00:18:09] open with the board of what is supposed [00:18:12] what the bills like I mean as an example [00:18:16] what a norm you know average I'm not [00:18:19] sure I've never done them before depends [00:18:21] on their water usage yeah but they're [00:18:24] they're metered right but we don't have [00:18:27] you couldn't give me a number a dollar [00:18:28] oh I I honestly don't I mean I know I've [00:18:31] seen him in the past but it's been a [00:18:34] while I don't even want to [00:18:36] guess I can look I can look me and I can [00:18:39] give you a call I'm just not sure you [00:18:41] know they're not huge but they're [00:18:43] they're big enough that yeah sure now [00:18:45] they're getting two right yeah they're [00:18:48] definitely yeah yeah I know I mean they [00:18:52] and then whe R and Gilbertville have [00:18:54] their own oh yeah nothing to do with me [00:18:56] right nothing to do or us yeah nothing [00:18:58] with us though that's something to look [00:18:59] at in the future mhm so after you leave [00:19:05] yeah I think yeah I mean I know Yan Mori [00:19:08] really well but he's as on so you know [00:19:12] anyway um so we posted the vacant uh [00:19:16] truck driver labor position for highway [00:19:18] department and uh we started contract [00:19:20] discussions with employees that of [00:19:22] contracts that expire at the end of this [00:19:23] fiscal year um myself uh select board [00:19:28] chair K and the chair from Barry and the [00:19:30] Town Administrator and Barry we met um [00:19:33] we've done it now twice just to kind of [00:19:35] touch base with them because we share a [00:19:36] lot of services with them and if we're [00:19:38] getting complaints and stuff you know [00:19:40] it's just good to keep that open line of [00:19:42] communication um we're going to be [00:19:45] working on a survey for the senior [00:19:47] center um so that will be an anonymous [00:19:50] survey um good so we can kind of figure [00:19:53] out some bumpy stuff over there but [00:19:55] other than that we're going to keep [00:19:57] we're going to continue um a couple [00:19:59] times a [00:20:00] year um I attended the Massachusetts [00:20:02] Municipal association annual conference [00:20:04] in Boston from Thursday to Saturday um I [00:20:07] attended a session on like a labor law [00:20:10] update I attended a session on dealing [00:20:12] with difficult legal issues I went to [00:20:14] the manager association business meeting [00:20:17] um a sovic reception and a couple other [00:20:19] things so it was a good time um went to [00:20:21] the trade show um spoke to a couple [00:20:24] people about some things were Hardwick [00:20:25] so um it was it was a good time it was [00:20:29] definitely worth [00:20:30] it good good missed a lot of sleep I I [00:20:34] am [00:20:36] tired um I want to recognize fire chief [00:20:40] peas um he the town was awarded the [00:20:43] Massachusetts Office of Public Safety [00:20:45] and Security firefighter safety [00:20:46] equipment grant for [00:20:49] $774 this goes uh to um like active [00:20:52] shooter training [00:20:55] okay um we're having a manager's [00:20:57] training for department heads and a [00:20:58] assistant department heads on February [00:21:00] 11th from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. in this [00:21:02] room um we're bringing in our insurance [00:21:06] company to do it um I'm going to have [00:21:08] breakfast for them um just to kind of [00:21:11] build on some of their managed skills [00:21:13] dealing with difficult situations and um [00:21:15] how to talk to their employees so that [00:21:17] thought that'll be good for [00:21:19] townwide perfect can I Cel if you would [00:21:22] like to I would yeah [00:21:27] absolutely um [00:21:29] and I just have a lot of things for [00:21:31] design [00:21:34] great what stuff you get R [00:21:39] TR um I'll give you [00:21:44] this and there's one thing I just say G [00:21:46] sign [00:21:49] okay do you mind if we get these all [00:21:51] mixed [00:21:52] up um I would hope not because [00:21:58] might I don't want to send the wrong [00:22:00] things to [00:22:03] people so the the Q Properties it just [00:22:08] says accepted by is that just me uh sure [00:22:11] yeah [00:22:13] okay um [00:22:20] here's there's one more that I think is [00:22:22] all three [00:22:24] okay this is [00:22:32] thank you Judy thank you Judy for coming [00:22:35] oh thank you I'm surprised nobody comes [00:22:38] huh well this is the first time that [00:22:40] normally we have a pretty full room I [00:22:44] know well scared thanks you're doing a [00:22:48] good job thank you thank you you [00:22:54] not see you need [00:22:57] bring oh that's just that page that [00:23:00] here's this is one I just need to you [00:23:02] it's for the fire okay so those three on [00:23:06] top this is just the letter from [00:23:12] this so I up here yep next to me [00:23:27] [Applause] [00:23:29] just the one page that's it there's that [00:23:31] thank [00:23:40] you February 11th and it's in the [00:23:43] morning [00:23:52] 9:30 and this is just this is no nothing [00:23:56] there okay [00:24:00] oh do you have oh that was okay [00:24:03] yep I'm trying to keep them the two [00:24:06] different pile I messed them [00:24:09] up it's all [00:24:12] good good it's all [00:24:21] good so it was cold there for a while [00:24:24] huh wicked cold where oh last week [00:24:29] yeah I haven't warmed up yet [00:24:37] um [00:24:38] um yeah I mean we still went for our [00:24:41] walks and whatnot we just bundled up and [00:24:42] the dog I put their jackets [00:24:45] on all right so these were the first [00:24:48] thank you and then B get this bottom [00:24:51] half of it [00:25:01] yeah I was hoping to save a big lump of [00:25:04] wood till February and I'm going to make [00:25:07] it yeahuh we start in on it next [00:25:14] week is that is that your primary source [00:25:17] your only yeah sunlight yeah it [00:25:22] yeah so when it's real cold no thank [00:25:44] you select the round table anybody have [00:25:48] anything I'm I'm good I don't have [00:25:51] anything this [00:25:54] evening to [00:25:58] I'll second it all in favor all right [00:26:01] right
